May I please? My throat is sore and so are my sinus's. I feel really wiped out, but not enough to sleep. I have to get the car inspected and waited until the last minute. It has to go in tomorrow. I've been hidden away in my room listening to old Geek Farm Life shows , working on my socks. I desperately need groceries but son1 just came home and said he will go for me. Girlfriend (his) is coming over tomorrow night for dinner and the downstairs needs to be somewhat clean. Not too clean though because if she is a permanent fixture, and I hope she is, she will soon get use to our mess. I'm having thoughts about more sock knitting, I do have yarn for black ones for Tim, it's just so stinkin hard to see to knit the black. I have tan coming from my order today. Not much else to complain about. Oh, a gerbil will be coming home from school soon, and the teacher said it can't live in a plastic set-up, which is what I have. I guess I have an aquarium in the basement, I had some in one of those before. But I need to work out when to go get it.
On the homeschooling front the two that are next year are excited about it. I see in them an excitement about choosing what they are going to study, and the idea that they know that they have to do 180 days, but they can choose when that is. They want to start Aug 1 and go until June 30, but only do 3 days a week. I think they are going to find that just naturally they will end up with more days a week than that, just with everyday curiosity and exploration. They are both the kind of kids who like to keep organizers and spreadsheets, so I won't have to do a lot of the record-keeping, just look over their shoulders. So I'm optimistic, but aren't we all before we start. The bad part hits in March, or April. Just like in any school, it can get long. That's when you do field trips more.
So on with the socks!
