Wow, I've calmed down by now but-
On Thursday morning I went by myself to the farmer's market to do a big shop. I'll make this short. Basically, I came out to my car to find that someone had smashed into the front left quarter of my car! People did see the car, but it took off so fast and was far enough away that no one got the plate. Great parts of her car were on the ground though. So I called my husband who was about to step on a plane for home (not the call you want to get at that point) and went to the office and reported it. Then I called 911, then my insurance company. I was so stunned I was having a hard time reading my insurance cards to make sure I was getting out the right one. I called #1 son to come and pick up the $200 worth of groceries I just piled into the trunk before noticing the damage. Turns out they changed the tire, and it was drivable, it didn't need a tow. I drove it to the shop, they checked it for safety and gave me an estimate. $2000+. $500 out of our pocket. The good news is I can drive it until I need to leave it with them. The bad news is I have no rental insurance and they need it for a week. The good news is we still have our truck and #1 son's car for that week. The witnesses say the woman had been inside, and she was clearly on drugs or alcohol, then went outside and almost hit many people and cars before settling on mine. There were more than 100 cars in that lot, and mine was in the center of all of them. She was pulling through two empty spots next to me to get to the next row. UUUGGG! I still haven't had a real fit about it. By the time husband was home I was sitting at the pool with the kids, trying to relax. And we had a trip to an amusement park with a car full of kids for the next day! That was my first thought. We were able to go with it the way it is. Talk about completely random! And #1 son was available to save me again. He's always here for me when I need him.

Wow, that is really something. This week has been full of crazy stuff like that for me (not personally but all sorts of other people I know. After watching people drive down here I am not the least surprised.:)) Praying things really work out well out of all of it. God is GOOD.
It never fails to amaze me that people can create such havoc & then just *vroom* drive away. I'm glad you're OK.
